Break Through Training Plateaus

Have your gains come to a screeching halt? Are you seeing diminishing returns?

It's common, we are creatures of habit. We see progress in a particular training style and it begins to keep us from moving into the next step of our fitness journey. Unfortunately, we soon begin to realize the fantastic results we were once getting, are now a thing of the past.

Our bodies are adaptation machines. What's your goal? Build Muscle? Lose Weight? Increase Cardiovascular Endurance?

The importance of your training program is the key to success in continuing to adapt to your goal. You should be mixing things up, phasing your workout routines to throw different things at your body. Different rep ranges, rest periods, overall volume, exercises, etc. By phasing your exercise routine into different periods of time we are continually telling our body to adapt to your goal. Whats a good timeframe for each phase? Depends on the adaptation or goal you are chasing and where you're at in your fitness journey. Could be weeks or months, you need to listen to your body.

Switching up your workout routines is not as easy as it sounds. We've gotten good at something, I don't want to go to something else I'm not good at. Let me tell you something, nothing will help you reach your goal and tell your body to adapt than continuing to do the things you're not good at. There's also a numerous amount of additional benefits that come from having a well balanced exercise routine.

Overall, enjoy the many different training modalities and routines available to you. Keep things fresh and avoid getting stuck doing one thing to long. Have fun with it.
